It is recognized by the National Council for Teachers Education (NCTE). The program provides an individual with skills, knowledge, and real-life training needed in educational institutions.  

An individual who is seeking a career in India as a teacher in primary, secondary and senior secondary levels need to have a degree in B.Ed. or other related courses. Along with that one is expected to occur in various exams before getting their posting as a teacher.  

Eligibility for B.Ed 

The eligibility criteria for B.Ed. degree are a graduation degree with 50% or more marks from any recognized university in any stream. B.Ed. course duration is 2 years. There is no upper age limit in universities. But some institutions have a minimum age requirement.  

Some universities also conduct entrance exams for admission to B.Ed. like MAH B.Ed., RIE CEE, CUET, IPU CET, Jamia Millia Islamia B.Ed. entrance exam.

2. Online B.Ed. 

For working professionals, it gets difficult to approach full-time courses. They prefer joining online or even part-time classes where attendance is not an issue. An online B.Ed. degree is offered by institutions like IGNOU, NSOU, etc. The full form of B.Ed. is Bachelor of Education. A bachelor’s degree with 50% marks in aggregate from any recognized university is the eligibility criteria. Along with that an individual must have at least two years of teaching experience.
